How to Turn On BMW Automatic Headlights?
1 Answers
Rotate the light knob to the automatic headlight position to activate the automatic headlights. Once enabled, BMW's automatic headlights operate in autonomous mode, requiring no further manual intervention. They are controlled by a light sensor located on the right side of the front dashboard near the windshield, which automatically activates or deactivates the lights based on ambient driving conditions. Many mistakenly believe "automatic headlights" are designed specifically for tunnels, but this is incorrect. There is a delay in activation—the headlights only turn on automatically 10+ seconds after the light sensor detects darkness. However, traffic regulations mandate that headlights must be manually activated before entering a tunnel, so drivers still need to manually switch them on in advance when passing through tunnels.
