How to turn off the small front lights on the Tiida?

On the far left of the combination switch on the left side of the steering wheel is the daytime running lights switch, press it to turn off. Daytime running lights are vehicle lights used during daylight hours. They don't provide significant illumination assistance but make the vehicle more easily identifiable during daytime operation.
We have a Tiida at home, and when driving normally, the small lights at the front might refer to the position lights or daytime running lights (DRLs). The operation is usually quite simple—I found a light control stalk on the left side of the steering wheel, and turning it can switch them off. If you can't locate it near the instrument panel, try rotating it to the OFF position or AUTO setting, as the position may vary slightly depending on the model year. Sometimes, the lights can't be turned off due to the design of the lighting system, such as DRLs staying on during the day for safety, making your vehicle more visible to others. If you really need to turn them off completely, I recommend checking the owner's manual first or consulting a professional technician at a 4S shop—never attempt to disconnect the wiring yourself, as it might cause electrical issues. My daily experience driving the Tiida tells me not to overlook these small details; it's good to have the lighting system checked during regular maintenance.
As someone who frequently works on car repairs, I've seen issues with the Tiida's front small lights many times. Usually, they are either position lights or daytime running lights (DRLs). The key to turning them off lies in the light control knob, typically located below the steering wheel—just give it a gentle turn to switch to the OFF position. If the lights remain on, it might be a setting issue, especially with modern car lighting systems integrated into electronic modules. In such cases, you'll need to check the settings menu on the dashboard. For safety reasons, it's not advisable to completely disable DRLs, as they enhance visibility during daytime driving. Remember to turn the switch off before starting the vehicle to avoid unnecessary battery drain. If the knob doesn’t work, it could be due to a blown fuse or loose wiring, requiring professional diagnostic tools. In short, with a bit of patience, most Tiida lighting issues are easily resolvable.
