Briefly turn the ignition on and off, then push the wiper control lever downward to the intermittent wiping position to enter mode. Lift the wiper arm away from the windshield. Press and hold the square unlock button at the connection point between the wiper arm and the wiper blade, then pull the wiper blade upward to remove it.

I've been driving the Touareg for two years, and the design of the rear wiper is indeed a bit hidden! Look to the left of the steering wheel at the lever that controls the front and rear wipers. There's a rotatable knob at the end. Turning it clockwise once activates a single swipe of the rear wiper, and turning it all the way clockwise triggers rear washer fluid + continuous wiping. To turn it off completely, just twist it counterclockwise back to its original position—at this point, the marker line on the knob should align with the 'OFF' position. By the way, the automatic mode is especially handy in summer; it wipes automatically when rain is detected. Just remember to turn it off when washing the car, or the wipers might move unexpectedly.

Last time when teaching my wife how to use the car, we encountered this issue too. The rear wiper switch of the Touareg is hidden on the front wiper lever: the knob at the top of the left-hand stalk controls the rear window. Turning it counterclockwise once activates wiping without washing, and turning it all the way down activates washing. To turn it off, just twist it clockwise back to the middle until you hear a click, similar to the feel of adjusting a volume knob. Remember to turn it off before winter snowfalls, otherwise, the wiper frozen to the glass may burn out the motor if forced to start.

Simple three steps: 1. Locate the stalk behind the left side of the steering wheel. 2. Feel the textured knob at the end of the stalk with your fingers. 3. Turn it clockwise to the end (you'll hear a click sound). The rear wiper switch logic of the Touareg is the same as other models, like the Tiguan L, which operates the same way. When opening the trunk, be careful not to let large items squeeze the wiper arm.

This is a common question among new car owners. Focus on the black knob at the top of the wiper stalk: OFF is at the top position, turning down to INT is intermittent wiping, and further down is continuous wiping. The key to turning it off is to rotate the knob back to the initial position; you'll feel a sudden decrease in resistance, which indicates the OFF position. If you accidentally trigger the windshield washer fluid, press the MENU button on the center console to access the vehicle settings and turn off the automatic rain-sensing wiper function.

When I first got the car, I pondered for quite a while! Pushing the left lever downward activates the front wipers, while controlling the rear window requires rotating the small ring at the top of the lever. Here's a tip: when the rear wiper icon appears on the dashboard, it means it's on. To turn it off, rotate the knob counterclockwise until the icon disappears, approximately 60 degrees. Avoid using continuous wipe mode on highways, as the rear window tends to accumulate dust and may scratch the glass.
