How to Turn Off the Maintenance Reminder on a Polo?

To turn off the maintenance reminder on a Polo, set the power mode to ON, press the TRIP button to display the engine oil life on the dashboard, hold the TRIP button for 5 seconds until the dashboard flashes, indicating the reset mode is activated. Release and hold the button again for 5 seconds to turn it off. Taking the 2019 Polo Color Edition as an example, its body dimensions are: length 4053mm, width 1740mm, height 1449mm, wheelbase 2564mm, fuel tank capacity 42.5L, trunk capacity 310 to 1003L, and curb weight 1190kg.
I also manually turned off the maintenance reminder on my Polo, and the method is actually quite simple: First, turn the car key to the off position, then press and hold the 0.0 button on the right side of the dashboard. Next, turn the key to the power-on position (without starting the engine). Once the dashboard lights up, release the 0.0 button and immediately press the time adjustment button on the left side of the dashboard. At this point, the maintenance wrench icon will disappear. The whole process takes just over ten seconds, but the actions must be continuous. The first time I tried, it didn’t work because I was too slow in pressing the time button after releasing the 0.0 button. Of course, if it’s a newer Polo with a digital dashboard, you might need to access the central control settings menu. For older models with mechanical dashboards, this physical button combination will do the trick. Remember, turning off the maintenance reminder doesn’t mean you can skip maintenance—regular oil changes are still essential.
