How to turn off the high beam on a Mercedes-Benz GLA?

First, press the vehicle's one-touch start button to start the engine; otherwise, the automatic headlight switch cannot be turned off. Then, locate the headlight adjustment knob on the lower left side of the steering wheel. When the headlight adjustment knob is set to AUTO, this is the automatic high beam switch. At this time, the vehicle will automatically choose whether to turn on or off the high beam based on the surrounding light conditions. Press the CANCL (cancel) button on the left side of the multifunction steering wheel to deactivate the automatic high beam function, thereby turning it off.
Having driven for over a decade, I've always been behind the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz GLA, and turning off the high beams is particularly straightforward. There's a lever on the left side of the steering wheel; usually, a gentle push forward turns on the high beams, and another push or a pull backward turns them off. If the car is equipped with an automatic headlight system, it will switch between high and low beams based on the ambient light, but you can also manually turn it off in the settings menu. I've found that occasional misoperations are common, especially for new drivers, so I recommend practicing the lever movements in a safe area first. Remember not to use high beams in urban areas to avoid dazzling other drivers and compromising safety. Although Mercedes' lighting system is intelligent, it still relies on good driving habits to ensure smooth driving.
