How to Turn Off the Car and Remove the Key?

After the car is parked in position. Press the brake and shift to N gear, then pull up the handbrake. Release the foot brake and then turn off the engine. Finally, shift to P gear and remove the key.
When I park the car, I usually press the brake pedal to bring the car to a complete stop. For an automatic transmission, I shift to the P (Park) position, while for a manual transmission, I shift to neutral, then pull up the handbrake to ensure the vehicle is secure. Next, I gently turn the key back to its original position to turn off the engine, at which point the dashboard lights will dim. I wait a few seconds to confirm the tachometer returns to zero, then smoothly remove the key. Finally, don’t forget to check if the windows are closed and whether electrical equipment like the air conditioning and headlights are turned off—this helps protect the battery. If the parking spot is on a slope, it’s best for manual transmission cars to engage reverse gear to prevent rolling. Before removing the key, turn the steering wheel slightly to check if it’s locked. These are all useful driving tips.
