How to Turn Off the BMW Reverse Mirror Tilt Feature?
2 Answers
To turn off the BMW reverse mirror tilt feature, move the mirror adjustment switch to the right. Moving it to the left will turn the feature on. The rearview mirror is a tool that allows the driver to directly obtain external information about the rear, side, and lower parts of the car while seated in the driver's seat. Taking the BMW 5 Series as an example, its body dimensions are 5087mm in length, 1868mm in width, and 1500mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3108mm. In terms of power, the BMW 5 Series is equipped with a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder turbocharged engine, codenamed N55B30A, with a maximum power output of 225 kW and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. For suspension, the BMW 5 Series features a double-wishbone independent front suspension and a multi-link independent rear suspension.
Last time I drove my bestie's BMW, I ran into the same issue. Just go to 'My Vehicle' on the center console screen, and you'll find the mirror settings in the vehicle settings menu. See that 'Mirror tilt when reversing' checkbox? Simply uncheck it and you're done. But heads up – you need to be in Park gear to change this setting. I spent ages trying earlier only to realize the option was grayed out when in Reverse gear. After making the change, test it by shifting to Reverse – if the mirrors don't tilt down anymore, you've succeeded. Now when reversing, using the surround-view camera is way more convenient since you don't have to wait for the mirrors to slowly reset.
