How to Turn Off the Auto Start-Stop Function in the Tiguan L?

Auto start-stop essentially temporarily shuts off the engine, during which you need to keep your foot on the brake pedal and not release it. The auto start-stop switch for the Volkswagen Tiguan L is located to the left of the gear lever on the center console. To turn it off, simply press the button.
I really hate this auto start-stop feature when driving in the city. At traffic light-heavy intersections, the engine keeps shutting off and restarting, making the steering wheel vibrate. Turning it off is actually simple: After sitting in the driver's seat, look down near the gear lever on the center console—there's a button with a circle around the letter A and an OFF label below it. Press it once, and a yellow start-stop indicator will immediately light up on the dashboard. That's it. However, be aware that it reactivates automatically every time you restart the engine, so you'll need to press it again. I usually turn it off as soon as I get in the car to avoid the engine stuttering at red lights. While it theoretically saves fuel, frequent start-stop cycles in traffic jams actually drain the battery faster and can even reduce AC cooling efficiency.
