How to Turn Off the Auto Start-Stop Function in Mercedes-Benz?
1 Answers
Mercedes-Benz's start-stop function is enabled by default when the vehicle starts. Pressing the start-stop function button once can deactivate the auto start-stop feature. To use this function again, simply press the button to reactivate it. The icon for the auto start-stop system switch is an "A" enclosed within a circle. The following situations require turning off the auto start-stop function: 1. When driving on steep slopes, it is advisable to avoid using auto start-stop. Although the start-stop duration is brief, the engine's start-stop on a slope may lead to insufficient brake assistance. 2. During extremely hot weather in southern regions when the air conditioning is running at full capacity, it is best to deactivate the auto start-stop function. This is because the air conditioning requires significant power consumption, and the vehicle's electrical system may not provide enough power to operate the air conditioning when the engine is off, potentially causing discomfort to passengers.
