BMW 5 Series Auto Start-Stop deactivation method: The auto start-stop switch is located below the engine start/stop button, featuring a mechanical key. To deactivate it, simply press the corresponding button. The auto start-stop function can only be manually turned off each time or permanently disabled via coding. It is advisable to deactivate this function during hill starts as it may cause delayed acceleration response and potential vehicle rollback. The BMW 5 Series, a product of BMW AG, embodies the brand's iconic design elements with its elongated and elegant body, dynamic and muscular styling, and fluid lines. The 535 variant features dual exhaust pipes on both sides. Interior craftsmanship showcases even and precise stitching, while the air conditioning system delivers excellent performance.

As a BMW 5 Series driver for several years, I always turn off the auto start-stop function immediately after starting the car because it's so annoying! The button is on the center console, marked with an 'A' inside a circle. Just press it lightly, and when the indicator light comes on, it means the system is deactivated. It defaults to being on, so you have to press it again every time you restart the car. The auto start-stop is supposed to save fuel and be eco-friendly, but in city driving when waiting at red lights, the engine keeps stopping and restarting. Not only does it cause noticeable vibrations, but it also wears out the battery and starter more quickly. A friend of mine had to replace their battery prematurely because of this feature. Turning it off makes the ride smoother, especially in traffic jams, making the drive much more comfortable. BMW's design intention is good, but the user experience is poor. I recommend keeping it turned off for a better and safer driving experience.

I've been driving for many years and handling the auto start-stop feature in a BMW 5 Series is quite straightforward. Locate the button on the front left side of the steering wheel marked with an 'A' icon, press it to deactivate the function. This system is designed for emission reduction, but in heavy traffic, the frequent starting and stopping increases wear on components, so I usually turn it off to avoid hassle. With it deactivated, the engine doesn't shut off, resulting in less noise and reduced vibration. Some newer models allow permanent deactivation via the iDrive menu, though you'll need to navigate through the settings. Remember, the feature defaults to 'on' every time you restart the car, so make it a habit to press the button as soon as you get in. Keeping it constantly active puts extra strain on the battery, making regular battery health checks during maintenance crucial. This simple operation ensures convenience and safer driving.

I often drive my 5 Series for grocery shopping and picking up kids, always turning off the auto start-stop. The button is in the center of the dashboard with an 'A' symbol—just press it lightly until the light comes on to deactivate. Otherwise, the engine shuts off at every red light, causing noticeable vibrations that make the cabin noisy, especially annoying with kids onboard. Turning it off makes the ride much smoother and starts more seamless. While auto start-stop claims to save some fuel, I don't think it's worth it—the battery wears out faster, and repairs are costly. A quick press every time I get in does the trick—simple and efficient. Keep the operation straightforward: just hit the button for safety first.

Will the suspension be damaged if the rear wheel falls into a pit?

If the rear wheel falls into a pit, the suspension will not be damaged. The reasons are as follows: 1. Structural reasons: In modern cars, it is often only used for the rear wheels. In this type of suspension, the wheels are controlled by an independent linkage mechanism, allowing them to move individually according to road conditions without affecting the entire vehicle body. 2. Suspension introduction: Suspensions can be divided into two basic types based on structure: dependent suspension and independent suspension. Dependent suspension is used in conjunction with a solid axle and is mainly employed in commercial vehicles (trucks) or the rear suspension of off-road vehicles. In this type of suspension, the left and right wheels are not independent of each other. When one wheel moves relative to the frame or body due to uneven road conditions, the other wheel undergoes the same change.
