Mazda auto start-stop deactivation method: There is an i-stop auto start-stop button on the vehicle's center console. Press and hold this button until the dashboard indicator turns yellow, indicating the auto start-stop system has been deactivated. For i-stop to function normally, in addition to the vehicle being stationary and the battery having sufficient charge, the following conditions must be met: 1. Ambient temperature between -10°C to 50°C; 2. On a slope not exceeding 8 degrees or flat ground; 3. Both engine and transmission have reached operating temperature; 4. Gearshift is in D position; 5. Front windshield defroster is turned off. Mazda is a Japanese automobile manufacturer headquartered in Hiroshima, Japan. Taking the Mazda CX-4 as an example, this model is positioned as a compact coupe SUV. Its body dimensions are 4637mm in length, 1855mm in width, 1524mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2700mm.
Last time I drove my friend's Mazda 3, I also looked into this. After starting the car, don't rush to drive off. Look for the round button with an 'A' on the left side of the center console—that's the start-stop switch. Press it when the air conditioning is on, and the dashboard will display a yellow i-stop OFF icon, indicating it's successfully turned off. However, it defaults to on every time you restart the vehicle, so you'll need to press it again. If you're driving through water on a rainy day, make sure to turn it off in advance to prevent the engine from unexpectedly restarting and getting flooded. Although the manufacturer claims frequent start-stop doesn’t affect the engine much, experienced drivers generally prefer turning it off for peace of mind, especially in traffic jams to avoid frequent vibrations, and the air conditioning cooling will also be more stable.
