How to Turn a Motorcycle Key?

The plastic handle of the original key has a magnetic head with the same shape as the lock cover. Align it with the corresponding concave hole on the lock cover (note the direction). Turn it slightly to open the lock cover, exposing the keyhole, and then insert the key. Insert the key into the keyhole and turn it to the right, moving the key from OFF to ON. At this point, the motorcycle lock will be unlocked.
I often ride motorcycles, and turning the key seems simple but has its nuances. The keyhole is near the handlebar—insert the key and turn it clockwise. Typically, first turn it to the ACC position to light up the dashboard, then gently turn to START to ignite the engine. Once you hear the engine sound, release the key, and it will spring back to the ON position. Be careful not to turn it too forcefully, as the keyhole might get stuck due to dirt or rust—regularly spraying some lubricant is recommended for maintenance. In cold weather, check the battery charge before starting. If the key won’t turn, it might indicate low battery power, so use a power bank for assistance. The entire process should be smooth and gentle—avoid operating in gear to prevent accidental starts. Beginners should practice a few times to get the hang of it.
