How to Tell If the Battery Is Dead or Not
1 Answers
When the two terminals are quickly touched to spark, a faint sound and yellow light indicate that the battery is dead. If the starter motor makes intermittent and weak sounds when starting the car, followed by only brief noises until it becomes completely silent, the battery is out of power. Turn the ignition switch to the second position. If the car dashboard keeps flashing (indicating unstable voltage), it means the battery is either dead or damaged. If the battery appears clean without corrosion, it is likely dead. If the battery casing shows bulging, deformation, or overheating, it indicates damage to the battery plates.
