How to take out the mechanical key of BYD Song Plus?

There is a switch at the back. Pull out the cover plate and then remove the key back cover by flipping it. The mechanical key is hidden inside, which can be taken out for use. The trunk switch needs to be pressed twice consecutively to open it. The buttons from top to bottom are lock, unlock, trunk and car finder buttons respectively.
I encountered this situation not long ago and wondered what to do if the remote ran out of battery. Taking a look at the BYD Song Plus key fob, I noticed a small button on the back. A gentle press with a finger loosened the plastic casing, allowing me to slowly pull out the embedded metal key blade. Don’t tug too hard—I almost cracked it the first time I tried. After removing it, it’s best to clean the slot, as dust buildup might cause it to jam next time. This mechanical key is mainly for emergencies, like unlocking the car door when the battery dies. Just keep it in your pocket as a backup—it’s quite handy.
Here's a little trick for operating this key. Having driven many cars, I find the button on the back of the Song Plus key quite prominent - just press it and pull it out smoothly. Avoid yanking it forcefully, or the clasp might break. The mechanical key serves as a backup; I recommend taking it out for a test to ensure smooth door access when needed. Choose a good storage spot - don't place it too deep where it's hard to find. Regularly check for rust or dirt, and simply wipe it clean if necessary.
