How to Take a Rubbing of the Vehicle Identification Number?

First, clean and dry the area where the vehicle identification number is located. Then, evenly apply red ink paste over the vehicle identification number. Place a transparent adhesive tape over the vehicle identification number. Stick it onto a white sheet of paper. Finally, cut out the vehicle identification number. Then, crumple a relatively new piece of carbon paper into a ball and rub it back and forth over the flat surface of the engine number. Place the rubbing film over the engine number and use a smooth tool to scrape with appropriate pressure in one direction until the number is clear. Finally, peel off the rubbing film and attach it to the document. After stacking the carbon paper and white paper together, press them firmly against the engine and frame. Then, press down on the white paper with your fingers to create a rubbing of the number. Cut it out and paste it onto the registration form.
