Take the key and enter the driver's cabin, placing the key on the wireless charging pad for the phone. Press the car start button to power on the entire vehicle. After the vehicle is powered on, you will see the current total mileage, Trip A, or Trip B displayed at the bottom left of the instrument screen. There is a round button at the top of the vehicle's steering lever. Press this button to switch between the total mileage, Trip A, and Trip B. When the fuel tank is full and you want to record the mileage for the current fuel level, press the round button on the steering lever to switch to Trip A or Trip B.
Switching the odometer display to show the total mileage on a BYD is actually quite simple. As a regular BYD driver, I start by turning on the engine after getting in the car. Then, I locate the control buttons on the left side of the steering wheel, usually arrow keys or a scroll wheel. Pressing them a few times brings up the dashboard menu where you can navigate to the mileage settings. Selecting the ODO mode displays the total mileage, which records the vehicle's lifetime kilometers—helpful for tracking maintenance schedules. For instance, when the car reaches tens of thousands of kilometers, it reminds me to change the oil or inspect the brake system. I recommend making these adjustments while parked to avoid distractions while driving. Maintaining this habit has helped me extend component lifespan, saving money and ensuring safety. Regularly checking the total mileage also aids in monitoring the vehicle's condition, preventing unexpected breakdowns.
