How to Switch Between Passat Seat Ventilation and Heating?
1 Answers
The Volkswagen Passat's seat ventilation and heating functions can be toggled via the buttons on the vehicle's air conditioning control panel. When the seat ventilation function is activated, the seat heating function turns off, and vice versa. These two functions cannot be operated simultaneously. The activation condition is that the vehicle needs to be powered on but does not require the engine to be running. Seat Heating Working Principle: The seat is embedded with resistance heating wires, which are sewn into the seat cover. Heating is achieved by electrifying these resistance wires, causing the seat to gradually warm up within a short time. Temperature sensors installed within the heating pads monitor changes in seat temperature, thereby controlling the power supply to the heating wires to maintain the seat heating temperature within an appropriate range. Seat Ventilation Working Principle: The seat cushion and backrest are equipped with ventilation systems that use fans to draw in air and direct it into a ventilation layer. Airflow then permeates upward through perforations on the seat surface, blowing toward the seat surface. To accommodate the fans, the internal structure of the seat must be modified. Factors such as fan noise and vibration, ventilation volume, and cooling speed must also be considered. The foam and upholstery of ventilated seats require special structures to meet ventilation needs.
