Use the mechanical key to open the door when the Hongqi H5 key fob battery is dead. Key fob functions: The car key battery has a limited lifespan. Even when not in use for extended periods, the battery power may deplete, so timely replacement is necessary. Briefly press the key fob to lock the doors; press and hold to close all windows and the sunroof. Briefly press to unlock the doors; press and hold to open all windows. Press and hold the unlock button to open the trunk. Hongqi H5 starting procedure: Insert the key into the ignition slot, then press the brake pedal and turn the starter knob clockwise. After entering the vehicle, shift the gear lever to P position and press the brake pedal, then push the engine start/stop button. Open the front center armrest storage compartment and place the key fob inside it.
I've encountered my Hongqi H5 key fob running out of battery several times, which was really frustrating at first. The solution is actually quite simple: there's usually a hidden mechanical key blade on the fob that you need to pull out forcefully to unlock the door. Once inside, you can't rely on remote start, but the key has an RFID chip inside that still works. There's a sensing area near the steering column or start button in the car - press the key firmly against it for about 5 seconds (it worked for me last time!) and then try the ignition button. Afterwards, remember to replace the battery immediately - just get a CR2032 type and change it yourself, it's very cheap. For prevention, replace the battery when the key's indicator light dims, otherwise getting stranded at night would be too dangerous.
