Method to start the Patrol when the remote key is out of battery: There is a keyhole at the lower right column position of the Patrol's steering wheel. Open the mechanical key, insert it into the keyhole, and turn the ignition to start the vehicle. Method to extract the mechanical key: On the back of the remote key, there is a 5mm square with a spring-loaded tab inside. Follow the indicated direction to open it, then pull the key ring in the opposite direction to extract the key. The Patrol is equipped with a brand-new Nismo appearance kit, featuring a more dynamic front bumper design. Additionally, the rear of the car is fitted with a single-sided dual-exhaust system and newly designed 22-inch forged aluminum alloy wheels, giving the entire vehicle a more sporty style.
Last time when I drove my buddy's Patrol, I also ran into a dead key fob situation, which totally threw me off. Luckily, an old hand taught me a trick: first press the side button to pop out the mechanical key and unlock the driver's door. Once inside, don't panic—the Patrol has a hidden feature. Press the key fob tightly against the push-start button (within about 5 cm), firmly hold the brake pedal, and keep pressing the start button for 3-5 seconds until the engine fires up. I've tried this several times because the Patrol's induction module is right below the button. Make sure it's close enough, or it won't detect the chip signal. Changing the battery is actually easy—just grab a CR2032 from a convenience store and pry open the key fob's back cover. But if you're in a hurry, use this emergency start method to get going first.
