How to Start a Wuling Hongguang When the Battery is Dead?

First, turn the key to the ignition position, press the clutch, release the handbrake, and start pushing the car. When the speed reaches 5 km/h, slowly release the clutch and press the accelerator. First, open the hoods of both cars, connect the negative terminals, let the other car start, rev the engine, and then try to start your car. Secure the front and rear of both cars with a tow rope. Then you can begin the towing start.
I often use my Wuling Hongguang for hauling goods, and jump-starting is the most reliable method when the battery is dead. Find a kind-hearted buddy, park the cars close together, and keep his engine running. Use the red jumper cable to clamp onto the positive terminal of his battery, and the other end to the positive terminal of my battery. Then, use the black cable to connect the negative terminals, being careful to avoid a short circuit. After starting his car, wait for three to five minutes to charge, then try starting my Hongguang. Once successfully started, drive for at least half an hour to recharge the battery, or visit a repair shop to check for battery aging. I usually inspect the battery voltage every quarter—if it’s below 12 volts, I recharge it to prevent draining. The Wuling Hongguang’s battery has a short lifespan, typically needing replacement every two to three years. To save money and hassle, it’s always wise to keep an extra set of jumper cables in the trunk.
