How to Start a Passat Automatic Transmission Car?

Press the start button directly, step on the brake, then press the start button again to ignite and start the engine. Release the foot brake, and you can choose to warm up the car in place for 1-3 minutes. Step on the foot brake again, shift to D gear, release the handbrake (for electronic handbrake, simply press the button briefly), slowly release the foot brake, add some throttle, and the start is completed.
When driving my Passat automatic transmission, I follow a fixed routine: first, fasten the seatbelt upon entering, press the brake pedal, and hold down the electronic parking brake button to release it fully. Then, start the ignition and wait for all dashboard warning lights to turn off, ensuring oil pressure and coolant temperature are normal. Shift the gear lever from P to D, feeling a slight vibration in the car. Gradually release the brake pedal, and the car will start creeping forward—then gently press the accelerator to move. Remember, after a cold start, it’s best to wait about half a minute before driving to allow the engine oil to circulate properly. Steer lightly to avoid grinding the tires when turning the wheels in place. Also, if starting on a slope, remember to use the auto-hold function to prevent rolling back—it’s especially handy.
