This slot is hidden inside the center console. First, locate this key fob slot. When the key fob battery is dead, you can insert the key fob into this slot. Wait a moment, and the vehicle will detect the presence of the key, allowing you to start the car. Find this keyhole, and you can insert the key blade from the key fob into it, then start the car as you would with a conventional vehicle. When the key fob battery is dead, press the key fob against the push-button start. Wait a moment, and you can start the vehicle.

My Edge also experienced a key fob battery failure before. For keyless start vehicles, you can still start the car when the key battery dies. First, extract the mechanical key hidden in the key fob's end to unlock the driver's door. Inside the car, place the key fob directly against the engine start button (the one with the circular power symbol). Then, while pressing the brake pedal, hold the button for about three seconds to start the engine. I've tried this method twice - works every time. Remember to replace it with a CR2032 battery, available at 7-11 convenience stores. When you notice the remote's operating distance shortening, it's time for a battery change. Keep a spare battery in your car for emergencies.
