Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, then slightly lift the wiper control lever on the right side of the steering wheel to spray the windshield washer fluid. Functions of automotive windshield washer fluid: 1. Cleaning performance: Automotive windshield washer fluid contains surfactants, which typically have wetting, penetrating, and solubilizing functions, thereby achieving cleaning and stain removal. 2. Anti-freezing performance: Automotive windshield washer fluid can significantly lower the freezing point of the liquid, thus providing anti-freezing effects and quickly dissolving frost. 3. Anti-fog performance: Automotive windshield washer fluid forms a single-molecule protective layer on the glass surface, which prevents the formation of fog droplets, ensuring clear and transparent visibility. 4. Anti-static performance: After cleaning with automotive windshield washer fluid, substances adsorbed on the glass surface can eliminate static charges on the glass, providing anti-static properties. 5. Lubrication performance: Automotive windshield washer fluid reduces friction between the wiper blades and the windshield, preventing scratches. 6. Anti-corrosion performance: Automotive windshield washer fluid contains various corrosion inhibitors, ensuring no corrosion to any metals and absolute safety for car paint and rubber products.

When I first got my Lavida, it took me a while to figure things out. There's a small lever on the right side of the steering wheel - gently pulling it toward yourself activates the windshield washer fluid. The longer you pull, the more it sprays. Remember to use antifreeze washer fluid in winter, the kind rated for -20°C, otherwise the tubes might freeze which is troublesome. If the wipers don't clean properly after spraying, the nozzles might be clogged - just use a needle to clear the holes. It's best to always keep spare washer fluid in your car; you can buy it at gas station convenience stores. I prefer the kind with oil-film removal function - works especially well during rainy days. Never wipe a dirty windshield dry - sand particles can scratch the glass. Always spray fluid first before wiping.

Is Automotive Exhaust Fluid Urea?

Automotive exhaust fluid is urea, an essential consumable in SCR technology. The formal name for automotive exhaust fluid is Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF). If DEF is not loaded, or if its purity is insufficient or its quality is substandard, the vehicle's engine will automatically reduce speed. Additionally, low-quality DEF can contaminate the catalyst in the SCR catalytic reaction tank, leading to severe consequences. Automotive exhaust fluid utilizes SCR technology to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions from diesel vehicles. The SCR system includes a urea tank (which holds DEF) and an SCR catalytic reaction tank. When nitrogen oxides are detected in the exhaust pipe during SCR system operation, the urea tank automatically sprays DEF. The DEF and nitrogen oxides undergo a redox reaction in the SCR catalytic reaction tank, producing harmless nitrogen gas and water vapor, which are then expelled.

Is the car still usable after a collision where the airbags deployed?

If the car has sustained minor damage, it can still be used, but a new airbag needs to be installed. Introduction to airbags: An airbag is a device that inflates to protect passengers before they experience a secondary impact during a collision. As a supplementary device to the seat belt's occupant restraint system, it is referred to as the airbag system. Composition of airbags: The airbag system consists of an integrated airbag module (comprising the airbag and inflator, or gas generator), a collision sensor system that detects impacts and sends deployment commands to the airbag module, and wiring harnesses that transmit signals from the sensors.

Why does the car battery die after being parked for a few days?

Excessive current leakage in the car. Normally, a car can be parked for a month without any issues. If the battery dies after just a few days, it indicates excessive current leakage. Even after turning off the key one-button start, the car does not completely power down. The Body Control Module (BCM) remains operational, the ECU data storage circuit continues to function, and even the data storage circuit of the car navigation system remains on standby. Here are some precautions for parking a car: 1. Choose an appropriate parking environment. Although it is now late autumn, short-term thunderstorms and strong winds are still highly possible. If the car is parked in an underground garage, consider the risk of flooding. If parked outdoors, try to find a relatively safe location. 2. Park in a community parking lot or an area monitored by cameras. For outdoor parking, it is recommended to use a car cover and secure it properly. Avoid parking directly under trees, as long-term parking under trees can be more troublesome than open-air parking due to leaves, bird droppings, and tree sap sticking to the car paint, which are difficult to clean.

Can You Directly Add Water When the Car Temperature Is Too High?

You cannot directly add water when the engine coolant temperature is too high, as the engine block may crack due to excessive temperature differences. Effects of Overheating: Expansion of engine components reduces the clearance between parts, intensifying engine wear. It also lowers the viscosity of engine oil, leading to increased wear on components and reduced engine lifespan. Precautions: Damage to the cylinder head gasket may cause cross-flow between water channels, oil channels, and air passages on the gasket, allowing oil to enter the radiator and water to mix with engine oil. The engine's function is to convert the thermal energy of gasoline or diesel into mechanical energy by burning the fuel in a sealed cylinder, expanding the gas, and pushing the piston to perform work.

What does the yellow indicator light that looks like a bulb in a car mean?

The yellow indicator light that resembles a bulb in a car is the tire pressure monitoring indicator, used to monitor tire pressure. Direct Tire Pressure Monitoring: Direct tire pressure monitoring devices use pressure sensors installed in each tire to directly measure the tire's air pressure. The pressure information is transmitted wirelessly from inside the tire to a central receiver module, which then displays the tire pressure data for each tire. When the tire pressure is too low or there is a leak, the system will automatically issue an alert. Indirect Tire Pressure Monitoring: Indirect tire pressure monitoring systems actually rely on calculating the tire's rolling radius to monitor air pressure.

What Causes a Sudden Loss of Power in a Car?

There are several reasons why a car may suddenly lose power, including running out of fuel, a dead battery, a faulty electronic throttle, or a damaged accelerator pedal. The details are as follows: Running out of fuel: In this case, the vehicle should be refueled immediately. Dead battery: If the car's battery is dead, the electronic devices inside the car will not function, affecting the engine's normal operation and causing a sudden loss of power while driving. In this situation, the car battery should be inspected and recharged promptly. Faulty electronic throttle: If the car is equipped with an electronic throttle, the electronic control components and circuits should be checked to prevent potential safety hazards. Damaged accelerator pedal: If the car has a traditional throttle mechanism, issues such as a loose accelerator cable or a broken spring in the accelerator pedal may occur. The specific problem should be identified and repaired after inspection.
