How to solve the water leakage issue in the A6L trunk lid?

First, drain the water. There is a rubber drain plug at the bottom of the spare tire compartment in the trunk. Remove it to drain the water. Check if the trunk lid is deformed and if the surrounding rubber seals have aged. Use a hose to spray water and observe which part is leaking.
When I encountered a water leakage issue with the trunk lid of my Audi A6L, I first checked the trunk's sealing strip. If this thing is aged or damaged, rainwater can easily seep in. I tried feeling around with my hands and performed a water splash test to locate the leak. Next, I cleaned the drainage holes, as those small openings can easily get clogged with leaves or mud, causing water to back up. I also inspected the latch and body seams—sometimes loose screws or body deformation can lead to leaks. For more complicated situations, I used compressed air to blow through the holes or replaced the sealing strip myself, costing around 100+ RMB for materials. I recommend keeping the drainage areas clean during regular car washes and avoiding parking under trees. If you're unsure, just drive straight to the 4S shop—they have professional tools to pinpoint the issue accurately. Don't delay too long, as it could damage items or electrical circuits in the trunk.
