In cars with electronic power steering, a faulty sensor can reduce assistance, and restarting the engine might temporarily help. Uneven tire pressure can also increase steering resistance, so use a tire pressure gauge to ensure all four tires are consistent. Worn tie rods or ball joints may cause unusual noises or play when turning, requiring prompt replacement. Wheel alignment is crucial—misaligned wheels not only make steering difficult but also accelerate tire wear. It's advisable to check power steering fluid and steering components every six months. If abnormalities are found, visit a professional repair shop immediately instead of attempting complex fixes yourself. These small habits can extend component lifespan and make driving safer.
