Now I've learned better—maintaining a steady speed, slowing down in advance, keeping tire pressure around 2.3 bar. I turn the AC off for 10 minutes after 30 minutes to give the compressor a break, reducing city driving fuel consumption by over 1L. Also, clearing out the tent and fishing gear from the trunk helps; the car runs much lighter. Don’t overdue oil changes, using 0W-20 viscosity makes it smoother. If problems persist, check the oxygen sensor and spark plugs at a repair shop—those can guzzle fuel like water if faulty.
