How to Solve Engine Knocking?
1 Answers
Solutions for engine knocking: 1. Choose gasoline suitable for the engine's compression ratio; 2. Regularly clean the fuel system and injectors; 3. Appropriately use high-quality fuel additives. When the engine inhales a mixture of fuel vapor and air, during the compression stroke, the presence of low-ignition-point substances in the fuel can cause the gas mixture to auto-ignite before the spark plug fires, resulting in cylinder vibration, known as knocking. Causes of engine knocking: 1. Excessive carbon deposits; 2. Engine overheating; 3. Improper fuel usage; 4. Low heat range spark plugs; 5. Overly advanced ignition timing; 6. Engine air leakage. Severe knocking can melt the spark plugs and pistons in less than a minute, and even crack the cylinder and engine block.
