The method to set up the tire pressure monitoring alarm is: 1. Press and hold the menu button for 3 seconds, and after a beep, enter the setup function state; 2. Press and hold the adj button for 3 seconds, and the low-pressure alarm value will cycle between 1.8 and 3.2. When it flashes to the desired value, release the button; 3. Press and hold the menu button for 3 seconds, and after hearing two beeps, save and exit. The working principle of tire pressure monitoring is: A built-in sensor is installed on the tire hub, which includes a bridge-type electronic pressure sensing device that detects air pressure, converts the pressure signal into an electrical signal, and transmits the signal via a wireless transmitter.

Last time I encountered a tire pressure warning, I figured out this procedure. Generally, you need to first ensure all four tires are at the standard tire pressure value—the reading is most accurate when the car is cold, and you can find the standard value on the door frame or in the manual. Then locate the combination button area on the left side of the steering wheel or the vehicle settings menu on the center console—some cars even have a direct tire pressure icon button. After entering, follow the prompts to confirm the reset, and remember to drive for about ten minutes to let the system relearn the current tire pressure values. If the light remains on after setup, there might be an actual leak, and you should visit a repair shop for inspection. For new cars, it’s best to familiarize yourself with the operation process in advance to avoid panicking during an alarm, which could affect safety.

When we first installed the tire pressure monitoring system in our car, it frequently gave alarms. The setup isn't actually difficult. It mainly involves four steps: First, park the car on level ground and turn off the engine, then check the tires for nails or damage; Next, inflate the tires to the specified pressure; Then, power on and start the engine but don't drive; Finally, find the tire pressure reset option in the vehicle settings on the central control screen and confirm. Special attention should be paid to certain car models that require specific button operation sequences, such as pressing the unlock button twice first, then holding the reset button for five seconds. After successful setup, it's best to record the reset date and have the technician check the sensor battery during the next maintenance.

The new car's tire pressure settings are mostly operated on the touch screen. My experience is not to rush off after ignition, first click the vehicle icon on the central control to enter the menu, and find the calibration function in the tire options. When the system prompts for reset, confirm to clear the warning light. For older cars with physical buttons, note that the best effect is achieved when the key is turned to the ON position without starting the engine. After the reset is completed, driving on the highway is most noticeable, as the system will re-establish the baseline values. Remind the car wash staff not to spray directly at the valve core to avoid damaging the sensor during regular car washes.
