How to Set Up the Auto Start-Stop Function in Range Rover Evoque?

Insert the key into the ignition and turn on the power. The auto start-stop indicator switch is located at the lower left corner of the center console. While driving, simply press the brake pedal, and the engine will automatically shut off about two seconds after the vehicle comes to a complete stop. Avoid using the auto start-stop function when driving uphill. Keeping the brake pedal pressed will maintain the engine in the off state. To deactivate the function, press the [A] and [off] buttons. As soon as you release the brake or turn the steering wheel, the engine will automatically restart immediately, allowing you to press the accelerator to start moving. The entire process remains in the D (Drive) gear.
As a long-time Land Rover owner, I'm quite familiar with the Evoque's auto start-stop settings. Typically, there's a button with a 'circle A' icon near the steering wheel or on the center console – pressing it toggles the system on or off. When enabled, the engine automatically shuts off at stops like red lights, saving fuel and being eco-friendly. I often keep it active in city driving to reduce emissions. Just note the system may not function if battery charge is low or temperatures are too cold – nothing to worry about, it's normal. New owners should consult the manual first to locate the button; it's very intuitive. Once accustomed, it's incredibly convenient and enhances driving experience, especially in traffic where temporarily disabling it can reduce engine strain.
