How to Set Up Automatic Folding for Q5 Rearview Mirrors?

Audi integrates the operation of rearview mirrors on the control buttons located on the front left door. Rotate the knob to the 10 o'clock position to adjust the front and rear mirrors, allowing for up, down, left, and right adjustments of the mirror surface. Rotate the knob to the 2 o'clock position to adjust the front and rear mirrors, enabling up, down, left, and right adjustments of the mirror surface. Rotate the knob to the 4 o'clock position to activate the rearview mirror heating function, which operates when the temperature is below 21 degrees. Rotate the knob to the 8 o'clock position to fold the rearview mirrors. After completing the operation, turn the knob back to the 12 o'clock position to return to the neutral position, and the mirrors will automatically unfold.
I also wondered about this when I first used the Audi Q5. There's a vehicle settings menu in the center console screen. Tap into it and look for the external lighting or comfort settings option, where you'll usually find a side mirror setting - just set it to auto-fold. It makes daily parking and starting the vehicle smoother, as the mirrors automatically fold to protect the doors when locked, eliminating worries about scraping in narrow alleys. After setup, test the lock button - the mirrors will immediately fold, which is both highly practical and anti-theft.
I set the auto-folding mirrors in the comfort features. Press the menu button on the center console near the steering wheel, select Vehicle Settings > External Equipment > Mirrors, then enable the auto-folding option. The mirrors will automatically fold when locking the car to prevent damage from collisions or freezing weather. It's recommended to test this setting multiple times after setup, especially on rainy days when roads are slippery—folded mirrors reduce the risk of being hit.
