How to set the time on the dashboard of an older smart car?

The dashboard has a time reset button on the right side, located on the small raised knob on the dial. Press it briefly to switch between time and mileage. When the time is displayed, press and hold for 3 seconds. Wait until the hour display flashes, then press briefly to adjust the hour. Press and hold for 3 seconds again, and the minute display will flash. Press briefly to adjust the minutes. Press and hold for 3 seconds once more or do nothing to return to normal time display.
I've driven quite a few older Smart cars, especially the Fortwo models, and their dashboard clock settings are actually quite simple. First, you need to turn the key to the ACC position or start the car without engaging the engine to power up the dashboard. Then, look for the small button on the dashboard, usually one with a clock icon in the middle or on the side. Press it once to enter the hour setting mode. Next, use the adjacent +/- buttons or a rotary knob to adjust the time. After setting the hour, press the clock button again to switch to minute adjustment. Repeat the process until the time is accurate. Take your time during setup, as buttons on these older models might be worn and prone to accidental presses. Once set, the time is automatically saved and won't reset upon next startup. I recommend periodically checking the clock's accuracy, as it may drift when replacing key batteries or during voltage fluctuations, affecting daily convenience. If you can't locate the buttons, consult the manual or a professional as different versions may vary.
