There is a button on the door panel. The adjustment lever is located at the upper right of the door, symmetrically on both left and right doors. Adjusting the mirror can be done by moving this lever. Adjust the horizon reflection in the rearview mirror to be positioned at the 2/3 height of the mirror. Adjust the reflection to occupy the left 1/4 area of the mirror. This makes it easier for the driver to monitor the road conditions on the right side of the vehicle and to gauge the distance between the car body and the curb when parking. We need to adjust the horizon reflection in the rearview mirror to the center of the mirror and adjust the reflection of the left side of the car body to occupy the right 1/4 area of the mirror.

To open the door, first locate the small square control area on the left door handle marked with L and R buttons for adjusting the mirrors. To adjust the left mirror, press and hold the L button, and similarly press R for the right mirror. Then, use your finger to push the directional keys on the control panel to easily adjust the mirror angle. When adjusting, I prefer sitting in the driver's seat in a normal posture to get the most comfortable view. Don't forget that Mercedes has a memory function. After setting the position, press and hold the seat memory button for 1-2 seconds until you hear a beep. Next time you get in the car, pressing the same number button will automatically reset the mirrors. The feature where the right mirror automatically tilts down when reversing is super handy!

As an office worker who commutes daily in an E260L, I prefer adjusting the rearview mirrors in three steps: After starting the car, first press the round knob on the door panel to select the left or right mirror, then slowly rotate the knob to adjust until the rear wheels are just visible; before driving, ensure the blind spots are fully covered—the rearview mirror heating button is on the AC panel after rain. I recommend new drivers test their adjustments on narrow roads—once, I nearly scraped a wall due to improper adjustment. The memory function for the rearview mirrors and its linkage with the driver’s seat in a Mercedes is super convenient—set it once, and it works for years.

Last time when I helped a friend adjust the E260L rearview mirror, I found it quite simple: First, power on without starting the engine, then locate the small round button with cross arrows on the driver's door panel. To adjust which side, rotate the button to point to the L or R icon, then fine-tune by pressing the up, down, left, or right directions. The key is to ensure that the sky and ground each occupy half of the mirror, with the car body taking up a quarter for optimal safety. After adjustment, remember to test the folding function with the lock button. The rotary knob on the left side of the steering wheel can activate the automatic tilt-down feature when reversing, and don’t forget to turn on the heating to prevent fogging on rainy days.
