How to set the door lock for Alphard?

Shift the gear to P position, then turn the key to the ON position, close all four doors, and press and hold the lock button until the hazard indicator on the dashboard flashes twice. Repeat the first three steps above, and when the hazard light flashes once, the automatic locking function will be turned off. To set the automatic unlocking when turning off the engine and removing the key, first shift to P position, then close all windows and doors, and press the unlock button for at least 6 seconds. Repeat the three steps during the setting process, and when the green arrow hazard light flashes, the setting will be canceled.
As a frequent driver of the Alphard, I find setting the door locks quite hassle-free. You can simply use the smart key remote to lock the doors by holding the lock button for about two seconds. I prefer customizing the settings on the central control screen—just enter the vehicle settings menu and select the door lock options. There, you can enable automatic locking features, like doors locking automatically when the vehicle reaches a certain speed, which is super handy when traveling with kids to prevent little accidents. I also recommend checking the key fob battery regularly to avoid malfunctions. Overall, the whole process takes just seconds, offering high security and convenience. I make it a habit to glance at the status before starting the car each time.
