Pull the wiper control lever inward to activate the front windshield cleaning function. The rear wiper control button is located on the right side. Rotate it to the corresponding position to turn on the wiper. Push the wiper lever toward the front of the car to spray water for cleaning. HI is the high-speed setting, and LO is the low-speed setting. These are suitable for different rainy conditions and can be adjusted based on the actual driving environment. Use the knob in the middle of the lever to adjust the sensitivity of the automatic wiper. This knob only functions when it is in the AUTO position. "OFF" on the lever refers to turning off the wiper. When moved to this position, the wiper stops working.

I had the same issue with my Mercedes-Benz C260L, and it took me a while to figure out that the automatic wipers are actually quite smart. The wiper stalk is on the right side of the steering wheel—just gently push it down one notch to the INT position, which is the auto-sensing mode. The system automatically adjusts the wiping speed based on the intensity of the rain, making it super convenient and eliminating the hassle during rainy drives. Remember to keep the sensor area on the windshield clean—I use a soft cloth to wipe it regularly, otherwise, the rain sensing might not be accurate. When setting it up for the first time, find a safe spot on a rainy day to test it. If there’s no response, check the fuse or whether the wiper function is working properly. Don’t underestimate this little feature—it makes rainy-day driving much safer and more comfortable.

How often should car tires be inflated?

Regularly (at least once a month) check the air pressure of all tires, including the spare tire, when they are cold. The correct inflation pressure for tires in a cold state should be based on the parameters recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. Tire lifespan: The wear lifespan of tires is between 30,000 to 50,000 kilometers. If the tires have not reached the wear limit or mileage but have been in use for 5 years or show significant cracks on the sidewalls, they should be replaced. Tire material: The main component of tires is rubber. The maximum storage and anti-aging time for rubber, from natural latex to ethylene propylene and nitrile, does not exceed 10 years. The average service life for various rubber products in use is 3-5 years.

How to Read a Car's Speedometer?

The car speedometer consists of two dials, one is the speedometer, and the other is the odometer. The car speedometer is used to display the vehicle's speed, with the unit being km/h. Methods to identify the car's dashboard: The dial marked with ×100RPM or ×1000RPM is the tachometer, indicating XX revolutions per minute. Multiply the number pointed by the needle by the unit marked on the dial to get the current RPM. For example, if the needle points to 3 and the dial is marked ×1000RPM, then it is 3000 revolutions per minute. Self-check function of the car speedometer: At the moment of starting, the vehicle will activate the self-check function. At this time, the dashboard needles will swing to the maximum and then fall back, and various regular indicator lights will turn on for a few seconds before automatically turning off, which is the normal state.

Where is the Best Place to Store a Car Fire Extinguisher?

Car fire extinguishers should be placed in a location that allows for quick and easy access (can be placed horizontally). The specific position depends on your vehicle's structure. In case of vehicle self-ignition: Do not panic. The best solution is to use the car fire extinguisher to put out the fire. Most vehicles are equipped with portable stored-pressure dry powder fire extinguishers. When you notice a burning smell in the car: Or see thick smoke, you should immediately recognize these as signs of self-ignition. At this point, you should: pull the handbrake; turn off the power; quickly exit the burning vehicle; retrieve the fire extinguisher to cool down and extinguish the fuel tank and burning parts to prevent explosion; simultaneously call the relevant authorities for help.

Can I Change the Repair Shop After Damage Assessment?

It is possible to change the repair shop after damage assessment, which can be considered an unwritten rule. Repair shops are cheaper than 4S stores: When a car has a problem, the 4S store would like to replace all the parts, while the insurance company would prefer to do minor repairs. One tries to exaggerate the problem, while the other tries to downplay it, leaving the car owner caught in the middle and feeling uneasy. There is a profit cooperation between the damage assessor and the repair shop: This means the damage assessor brings business to the repair shop and gets a commission. Sometimes, the damage assessor and the repair shop collude to cheat the insurance company. The car owner may seem to benefit temporarily, but in the long run, the next premium will increase, ultimately causing a loss. If the at-fault car owner bears the main responsibility, some insurance types have a 15% deductible, which the repair shop may inform the insured about.

What is the fuel tank capacity of the Django?

The Django has a fuel tank capacity of 8.5L, as officially announced. The Django uses 92-octane gasoline with a fuel consumption of 3.5L per 100 kilometers. A full tank can cover a distance of approximately 242km. During daily driving, it is essential to monitor the remaining fuel level in the tank. This is typically done by observing the fuel gauge inside the vehicle. Under normal circumstances, the gauge accurately reflects the fuel level. The fuel gauge usually has 5 to 6 segments, and it is advisable to refuel when only 2 segments remain to avoid running out of fuel mid-journey. In practice, the actual amount of fuel filled may exceed the marked capacity. This is because the manufacturer's specified tank capacity is measured from the bottom of the tank to a safe fill level, leaving some space between the safe level and the tank opening. This extra space accommodates fuel expansion due to temperature increases, preventing overflow. If fuel is filled up to the tank opening during refueling, the actual amount may exceed the marked capacity.

Why Does a Car Battery Discharge Quickly?

First, confirm whether the battery is fully charged. If it is confirmed to be fully charged but the battery capacity drops too quickly, it indicates that the battery is nearing the end of its lifespan or there may be the following reasons: Severe Sulfation of Plates: If the battery is left in a discharged or partially discharged state for a long time, under the influence of daily temperature fluctuations, the dissolution and crystallization of lead sulfate cannot maintain balance. The amount of crystallization exceeds the amount of dissolution, causing crystallized lead sulfate to adhere to the plates. Severe Water Loss: Battery water loss occurs because during charging, oxygen is released from the positive electrode and hydrogen from the negative electrode, meaning some electrical energy is consumed in electrolyzing water. This is particularly severe during charging. Water loss in the battery can lead to irreversible sulfation of the plates, reducing the battery's capacity, and in severe cases, causing the battery to become unusable. Short Circuit in a Single Cell of the Battery: For a lead-acid battery with a broken cell, the problematic cell can be individually extracted, and new plates can be replaced. Then, seal it with sealing glue. After welding the terminals, add electrolyte and charge the battery.
