How to Screen Mirror to Watch Videos in a Mercedes-Benz?

Mercedes-Benz does not support screen mirroring for watching videos. After screen mirroring, you can only play music, use navigation, make and receive calls, etc. Relevant information is as follows: 1. The screen mirroring function of Mercedes-Benz is applicable to Apple phones. Just connect to Carplay with a data cable and use the phone for projection. 2. Android phones can only support some Mercedes-Benz models from the 2019 series, and you need to download the Carlife app, along with an Android to Type-C adapter, to connect and use Carlife for screen mirroring. 3. Apple phones that support Carplay require iPhone 5 series or above, and the prerequisite for using Carlife is that the phone system is not lower than Android 5.0.
Back when I drove a Mercedes-Benz C-Class, I also tinkered with screen mirroring. It varies by model. The newer models with the MBUX infotainment system generally support wireless CarPlay and Android Auto—just connect your phone and tap the projection icon on the central display. If your phone supports the MirrorLink protocol, enable USB debugging in developer mode, plug the data cable into the USB-C port in the front armrest (avoid the charging port), and the system will prompt you. However, video playback is automatically disabled while driving due to Mercedes' safety protocols. For older models, I recommend installing a Carlinkit adapter (around 300 RMB on Taobao). Connecting via HDMI to the AV port in the glovebox delivers the most stable performance and bypasses driving restrictions.
