How to Safely Transport a Gas Cylinder in a Car?
1 Answers
The gas cylinder must be placed upright and transported over short distances. For almost all sedans, it is impossible to place the gas cylinder upright; SUVs can do this, but it must be securely fastened to prevent the cylinder from shaking or colliding in the trunk. Gas cylinders must not be placed inside the passenger compartment, as this constitutes mixed loading of passengers and cargo in a passenger vehicle. Passenger vehicles are not allowed to carry cargo except in built-in luggage compartments or external roof racks. Transporting flammable and explosive items such as liquefied gas requires the use of hazardous material transport vehicles that meet national standards.
