How to Route the Belt for a 4D25 Engine?

Remember the installation position of the car alternator belt and the bending sequence of the engine wheels it loops around. Remove the alternator belt from the pulley and then take off the alternator belt. Press the belt by hand to check its tightness, ensuring the alternator belt is installed in the correct position. Adjust the pivot bolt strictly according to the manufacturer's instructions.
I've personally replaced the 4D25 engine belt multiple times, and I feel the steps require careful attention. First, ensure the engine is turned off and cooled down before operation—safety first. Locate the pulley positions on the engine: typically, the crankshaft pulley is the starting point, then route the belt around the water pump pulley, alternator pulley, air conditioning compressor pulley, and finally to the tensioner pulley. Use a wrench to loosen the tensioner bolt and remove the old belt. When installing the new belt, make sure the belt grooves align with each pulley groove—never cross or twist the belt. Then, tighten the belt to moderate tension—about 5-8 mm of deflection when pressing the middle of the belt with your thumb is ideal; too tight and it may break. Secure the bolt, start the engine for a test run, and listen for any squeaking noises. It's advisable to have two people work together during the process to prevent the belt from slipping off. Remember to regularly check the belt for wear to avoid breakdowns on the road.
