The routing method for the alternator belt of BYD Song is as follows: 1. Before assembly, the final cleaning must be done with gasoline to ensure all parts are clean and dry, guaranteeing tight fitting surfaces free of oil and sufficient friction. 2. When assembling the hex socket head bolts, they should also be cleaned with gasoline and dried before assembly. Do not apply lubricating oil or grease to the bolts or threaded holes to ensure sufficient frictional self-locking capability after tightening. 3. When the three hex socket head bolts are nearly in place, tighten them alternately to ensure the taper sleeve is subjected to uniform axial force, guaranteeing good coaxial alignment between the pulley and the taper sleeve. 4. Before installation, measure the length of the hex socket head bolts used for assembly to ensure that after tightening, the bolts can press against the bottom of the blind hole in the taper sleeve, ensuring tight conical surface contact and that the bolts receive reverse thrust from the bottom of the blind hole, creating a locking effect similar to the double-nut principle. 5. After tightening the pulley, check and adjust the relative positions of the driving and driven pulleys with a tension gauge to ensure both pulleys are in the same plane and the belt is properly tensioned. 6. The pulley cover should be intact and securely installed to prevent serious safety accidents caused by belt breakage or pulley loosening during operation. 7. The taper sleeve is a wear-prone part. After prolonged operation, the inner hole and keyway may become damaged. Inspect it before each assembly and replace defective parts promptly.

Last time I removed the Song's alternator belt, I paid special attention to the routing sequence - this absolutely cannot be messed up. First disconnect the battery negative terminal for safety, then locate the crankshaft pulley as the starting point. Route the belt sequentially around the water pump, alternator, and power steering pump components, finally passing through the tensioner pulley for securing. Remember to use a tool to turn the tensioner bolt counterclockwise to create slack. After installing the new belt, verify the belt's arrow direction matches the crankshaft rotation. Don't rush off after installation - start the engine and listen for any squealing noises which may indicate improper tension adjustment. Most newer models now use 5PK multi-rib belts which are less prone to slipping compared to older vehicles. The most critical part is referencing the belt routing diagram on the underside of the hood - routing differs between model years. When doing this yourself, wear protective gloves as the tensioner spring has tremendous force and can easily pinch fingers.

How Long Should Idle Charging Last?

If the car has been parked for 10 days without moving, idling for 10 minutes is sufficient for charging. However, if it has been parked for more than 20 minutes, at least 20 minutes of charging is required. More relevant information is as follows: 1. Idling: The car can be charged while idling in place. If the usual purpose is just to help replenish the battery, idling is sufficient. When the car is completely out of power, charging at 1500 rpm for 20 minutes can provide enough power for the starter to start the engine once. Charging at 1500 rpm for 30 minutes can provide enough power for a start the next day. If charging at 1500 rpm for more than 60 minutes, the battery can be almost fully charged. 2. Note: When the car is not used for a long time while away, it is advisable to unplug the power cord to prevent severe battery discharge. If you forget, you can ask family or friends to help start the car for charging. It is also a good idea to keep a set of jumper cables in the car for emergencies.

Can Gasoline Be Purchased for Storage?

Gasoline can be purchased for storage. However, it is not recommended to store it at home. Gasoline is highly flammable and volatile, making it extremely unsafe to keep in residential areas. Introduction to Gasoline: Gasoline is a volatile and flammable hydrocarbon mixture liquid derived from the fractional distillation and cracking of petroleum, used as fuel. Appearance of Gasoline: It appears as a transparent, flammable liquid with a distillation range of 30°C to 220°C. The main components are C5 to C12 aliphatic hydrocarbons and cycloalkanes, along with a certain amount of aromatic hydrocarbons. Gasoline has a high octane number (anti-knock combustion performance) and is classified into different grades based on octane ratings, such as 89, 90, 92, 93, 95, 97, and 98. Starting from January 2012, the gasoline grades 90, 93, and 97 were revised to 89, 92, and 95, respectively.

Why is there rust inside the wheels of a new car?

It is normal for the steel rims inside new car tires to have surface rust, as they are made of cast iron, and this generally does not affect their normal use. Many car models use aluminum alloy to make the wheel hubs. The advantage of aluminum alloy is that it is sturdy and durable, but the downside is that it is susceptible to acid. Aluminum is easily oxidized when exposed to acid, and if placed in a strong acidic environment, aluminum alloy wheel hubs can indeed corrode. Specific details are as follows: 1. Rust condition: If the rust on the brake disc is minimal, no special treatment is needed, as the slight rust will be removed during braking while driving. If the rust is more severe, it may cause vibrations or shaking during braking, such as brake pad vibration, steering wheel vibration or shaking, or body vibration. 2. Timely maintenance: Severe rust is difficult to remove through braking, and even if the rust is removed, it may cause brake vibration due to uneven thickness of the brake disc. Therefore, it is necessary to perform maintenance on the brake disc every two months to prevent the rust from becoming too severe.

What does automatic headlight on/off mean?

Car manufacturers have installed a photosensitive control system for the headlights to facilitate users, which can automatically turn on and off according to the brightness of the light. This is called "automatic headlights". Most high-end vehicles are equipped with this feature. Introduction to automatic headlight on/off: For cars equipped with automatic headlights, when the light becomes dim during driving, the headlights will automatically turn on, and when the light becomes bright, they will automatically turn off. Principle of automatic headlights: Electronic components such as photoresistors are used as sensors and installed behind the rearview mirror inside the car. They send electronic signals to the ECU (electronic control unit), similar to a computer CPU, to inform the ECU whether to turn on or off the headlights, or to switch between high and low beams. The ECU controls the headlight switch and beam changes. When driving, if the light suddenly becomes dim, the headlights will automatically turn on, and when the light is sufficient, they will automatically turn off. Additionally, during nighttime encounters with other vehicles, the headlights may automatically switch between high and low beams.

What to Do When the Left Rear Tire of an Audi Has Insufficient Pressure?

Audi Q3 tire pressure is insufficient. First, check if the tire pressure is adequate. If it is insufficient, it needs to be replenished. After inflating, you can reset it via the MMI settings. Press the car button and select 'Store Tire Pressure' to proceed. If the TPMS light on the dashboard is on, a system upgrade at a 4S shop is required. The standard tire pressure for an Audi Q3 is around 2.5, with a normal fluctuation range of ±0.2. The hazards of excessive tire pressure are as follows: 1. Tire damage: Reduced friction and adhesion of the tire, affecting braking performance; causing steering wheel vibration and deviation, reducing driving comfort. 2. Accelerated tire wear: Accelerates localized wear of the tread pattern in the center of the tire, shortening tire lifespan; increases vehicle vibration, indirectly affecting the lifespan of other components. 3. Accelerated tire deformation: Causes excessive stretching and deformation of the tire cords, reducing tire elasticity and increasing the load on the vehicle during driving. 4. Performance degradation: When encountering sharp objects like nails or glass on the road, they can easily penetrate the tire, leading to internal cracks and blowouts, resulting in a tire burst.
