How to Restore the Trunk Memory Height?
2 Answers
After opening the tailgate, manually push it to the desired height and keep it in that position. Press and hold the trunk switch button for about 4-5 seconds. The vehicle's computer will automatically store the height position information at this time. A prompt sound will be heard once the storage is completed. After the power tailgate is closed, it will rise to the previously recorded height position the next time it is opened.
When my car's trunk memory height failed last time, I found most vehicles require resetting the memory. The method is quite simple: first ensure the trunk is fully closed, then press and hold the setting button inside the car or near the trunk for about five seconds until you hear a beep, which confirms the new height is memorized. Memory loss after battery disconnection is common, especially after installing a new battery. When resetting, be careful to avoid the trunk automatically descending and injuring your hands - operate gently. Different models may vary; for example, German cars often have the button on the dashboard while Japanese models may place it inside the trunk. Always consult the owner's manual or contact the brand for specific guidance, as safety comes first.
