How to restart after replacing the car key battery?

Use the legal key to open the front left door, close the door, start the engine, and wait for more than 30 seconds. Insert the small key into the keyhole from outside the left front door, then turn off the engine. The person outside the door should use the small key to unlock the car five times. At this point, the dashboard will display a message saying "Please insert the key to be registered."
Last week, I replaced the battery in my car key myself, thinking it would work right away. To my surprise, the door unlock button didn't respond at all after the replacement, which left me a bit confused. I remembered hearing about restarting the system by holding the unlock button for about 10 seconds until the light comes on, indicating the pairing process has started. On my Toyota, this method worked perfectly—it felt like reintroducing the key to the car. If that doesn't work, check the last few pages of your owner's manual; some brands require the key to be near the ignition switch to start the engine for synchronization. It's a good practice to replace the battery regularly rather than waiting until it's completely dead, which can make synchronization difficult. Always test all functions after the operation. A small tip: Make sure you buy the correct battery model to avoid issues and wasted time.
