Press the OK button on the left side of the steering wheel and the right button to navigate to the maintenance interface, then press the downward arrow button on the steering wheel to access the tire pressure interface. Wait until the instrument panel displays the message 'Run-flat indicator activated', then press the OK button on the steering wheel to confirm. The instrument panel will indicate whether the tire pressure is normal. Press the arrow button to select 'Yes' and then press the OK button to confirm.
The tire pressure warning light on my old BMW X1 came on, and I figured out how to reset it myself. First, check the pressure in all four tires. When the car is cold, refer to the standard values on the label by the door and inflate them to that number to ensure uniformity. Then, get in the car, start the engine, and press the buttons on the left side of the steering wheel a few times to enter the menu system. Find the tire pressure monitoring option in the vehicle settings, select reset, and confirm. Drive a few hundred meters to let the system recheck the pressure, and the light should go off. If the light stays on, there might be a puncture or a faulty sensor, and you’ll need to take it to the shop. Don’t ignore the tire pressure warning—low pressure increases the risk of a blowout on the highway. I make it a habit to check the tire pressure every time I wash the car to prevent any surprises.
