How to Reset the Tire Pressure Monitoring System on BYD Yuan?

BYD Yuan's tire pressure can be checked through the screen in the center of the dashboard. The tire pressure monitoring indicator is a yellow symbol, an irregular circle with no seal on top and four small spikes at the bottom, containing an exclamation mark inside. The illumination of the tire pressure monitoring indicator indicates abnormal tire pressure. Abnormal tire pressure is generally caused by one of the following three reasons: Abnormal tire pressure: Usually, an alarm will sound if the pressure is below 1.8 bar or above 3.0 bar. In this case, tire inspection and pressure adjustment are required. Tire pressure monitoring not reset: After inflating the tires, if the tire pressure is not reset in time, the tire pressure monitoring system will still record the previous data, causing the tire pressure monitoring indicator to light up. In this case, simply perform a tire pressure reset. Damaged tire pressure sensor: The tire pressure sensor is used to monitor tire pressure and is directly installed inside the tire, connected to the tire inflation port. If the tire pressure sensor is damaged during driving, it will also cause the tire pressure fault light to illuminate. For sensor damage issues, only a new replacement part can be used.
I'm a BYD Yuan owner and often take care of my car myself. Resetting the tire pressure monitoring system is actually quite simple, so don't panic. I usually make sure all tire pressures are adjusted to the appropriate values first, with the specific numbers found on the label near the driver's door frame, such as around 230kPa. Start the car but don't drive it, then find the settings option in the menu on the center console screen. Click into it, select vehicle settings, and then look for the tire pressure monitoring system. In most cases, there's a reset or initialization button—just click it. After resetting, it's best to drive at low speed for about ten minutes to let the system recalibrate the sensor data. Why might you need to reset it? It could be because I've replaced a new tire or had a tire repaired, and the system is still alerting. If not handled promptly, the tire pressure light on the dashboard keeps staying on, which affects driving mood. Regularly checking tire pressure not only saves a bit of fuel but also prevents tire blowout accidents. If it's unsuccessful, the car manual has specific instructions, or consulting a 4S shop is safer.
