How to reset the sunroof on a Golf?

With the ignition switch turned on, the sunroof can be opened or closed by rotating the switch. To close the sunroof, turn the switch to position A. If the sunroof encounters difficulty during the closing process or stops due to resistance, the sunroof glass will immediately reopen.
Bro, I had the same issue last time with my Golf's sunroof getting stuck halfway and not closing properly, which had me sweating bullets. Later, a technician at the 4S店 taught me this trick: First, power up the car without starting the engine, then hold down the sunroof close button for 30 seconds without letting go. Wait until the glass moves and then bounces back slightly—that’s when you know it’s done. Remember to close the sunshade tightly before doing this, or the reset won’t work. After finishing, turn off the car and wait five minutes before restarting to test the sunroof’s open-close function. This method essentially forces a reboot of the car’s computer. My 8th-gen Golf, bought last year, worked like a charm after this, and it hasn’t acted up in the past six months. With the rainy season approaching, I recommend doing this power-off reset once a month to prevent software glitches.
