Turn on the ignition, press the multifunction button next to the OK prompt in the upper right corner of the display. Press the PWR/VOL button once to activate the system. Press the INFO button on the left side of the display. Press the multifunction button next to the RESET prompt in the upper right corner of the display.
I've been driving my Cadillac ATS-L for quite a while and have dealt with the oil reset procedure several times. It's actually quite simple. First, make sure the car is turned off, then turn the key to the ON position without starting the engine. Next, look for the navigation buttons on the right side of the steering wheel. Scroll left or right through the dashboard menu to find the Oil Life or oil life percentage item. Press and hold the center confirmation button for about 5 seconds, and it will reset to 100%. Remember to do this immediately after changing the oil, otherwise the system will still think the oil is old and may trigger unnecessary alarms that could affect your driving. I recommend checking it yourself regularly along with scheduled maintenance to keep your car in top condition. Now, every time I complete the reset, I feel much more at ease while driving.
As a long-time owner of the ATS-L, mastering the oil reset procedure is essential. Here are the steps: With the engine off, turn the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine. Use the steering wheel buttons to navigate to the vehicle information menu and locate the Oil Life option. Press and hold the select button until the percentage resets to zero, indicating completion. The key is to perform this immediately after an oil change; otherwise, the system may inaccurately track oil life and trigger premature alerts. I personally perform this every time and verify that the reset displays correctly. Additionally, similar reset methods exist in German cars – once familiar, it becomes a hassle-free routine.
