Turn off the ignition switch and press the TRIP button. Turn on the ignition switch and release the TRIP button. When the maintenance reset prompt appears, press and hold the ENTER switch for 3 to 5 seconds. After a beep sound confirms completion, turn off the ignition switch.
After driving a Great Wall H5 diesel version for several years, I've reset the maintenance wrench reminder multiple times. First, turn the key to the position where the entire vehicle is powered off. Then, press and hold the small mileage reset button on the right side of the dashboard without releasing it. Next, turn the key to the ignition-on position (where all dashboard lights are on but the engine isn't started). Keep an eye on the dashboard for about 10 seconds, and you'll see the wrench icon flash a few times before disappearing. Release the button, turn off the power, and restart the vehicle – the wrench reminder will be cleared. The key is to hold the button without releasing it until the wrench disappears. The first time I tried, I released it too quickly and it didn't work. If the button doesn't respond, check if you're operating in the ACC position; it must be in the ON position. Even veteran mechanics at repair shops confirm this method is reliable.
