How to Reset the Maintenance Light on the XRV?

First, press and hold the 'A' button while stepping on the brake pedal. Then, do not start the engine, but ensure the vehicle's power is turned on. At this point, the dashboard or characters may start flashing. Continue holding down the reset button 'A' until '...' appears on the display. Release the brake pedal and let go of the 'A' button. The maintenance light reset process is now complete. Finally, turn off the power.
Resetting the XRV maintenance light is actually quite simple. I often help customers with it in the workshop. First, don't start the car, just power it on (press the start button twice). Find the TRIP button on the dashboard, hold it down without releasing, and the oil maintenance light will start flashing. Keep holding until it goes off, then continue for about five more seconds. For models with a multifunction steering wheel, it's more convenient to switch to the settings menu and find 'Vehicle Maintenance Information' to reset. Remember to ensure the car is parked and the handbrake is engaged during the operation—last time a beginner forgot this and almost caused an accident. Button positions may vary by model year, so checking the manual in the glove box is the most reliable.
Just manually reset the maintenance light on my brother's old XRV. For the mechanical gauge cluster, first insert the key and turn on the ignition but don't start the engine. Look for a small stick-like button on the left side of the instrument panel, press and hold it toward yourself. The oil light will first illuminate and then turn off. Wait until it completely goes out, continue holding for three more seconds before releasing. For the LCD instrument panel, use the directional buttons on the right side of the steering wheel to enter the maintenance menu. When selecting the reset option, press and hold the center scroll wheel button. I found that post-2017 models require selecting the vehicle option in settings for reset, and after 2022 models can even operate it through the central control screen. Remember to turn off power-consuming devices like air conditioning and audio before the operation.
