How to reset the maintenance light on the Volkswagen C-TREK?

While turning on the ignition switch, press and hold the odometer hour reset button. After ignition, the prompt message will still be displayed. Within 30 seconds, press and hold the odometer hour reset button for about 3 seconds, and the prompt message will be completely cleared.
My Volkswagen C-Trek has been running for over two years, and it's quite annoying that the service light stays on after every maintenance. I figured out how to reset it myself – the method is simple but must be done in order: First, turn off the car completely, sit in the driver's seat, press and hold the small round button on the dashboard, keep holding it, then turn the key to the second position to light up the instrument panel, hold for about ten seconds, and release. Remember not to rush, keep the car stationary during the operation and don't press the accelerator, or it might not work. The service light is just a reminder for regular oil changes and car maintenance. Since I drive long distances weekly, resetting it makes the reminder more accurate and saves me a trip to the dealership. If your car is an older model, the button position might be different – checking the manual is always a good idea. Regular resets can make the engine last longer, a little trick to protect your beloved car.
