How to Reset the Maintenance Light on the New Volkswagen Bora?

First, turn off the ignition switch to shut down the vehicle. Then, use your left index finger to press and hold the "0.0" button located below the dashboard. Next, use your right hand to turn on the ignition switch. Keep holding the "0.0" button with your left hand until the English letters for the maintenance service appear on the dashboard, then release the button. After releasing, within 30 seconds, press the "0.0" button below the dashboard once more, and the maintenance reminder light will be reset.
Last time my Volkswagen Bora's maintenance light came on, I successfully reset it myself and wanted to share the experience. After turning off the engine (don't start the car), locate the small button on the instrument cluster or the reset button labeled "0.0" and hold it down. Then turn the key to the ON position to power the dashboard without starting the engine. Wait about 10 seconds until "service" may appear on the screen—release the button once the light goes off. If there's no response, the button location might be wrong (newer Bora models have smarter dashboards, sometimes with the reset function on the steering wheel's multifunction buttons). I tried this several times—make sure interior lighting is good to avoid accidentally changing other settings. Important reminder: After resetting, get the actual maintenance done promptly, otherwise the warning system becomes pointless, which is crucial for engine protection. DIY saves a trip to the shop, but follow the steps correctly for safety.
