With the engine off, turn the ignition switch to the "Ignition/Run/Start" mode. Use the buttons on the right side of the steering wheel in the Driver Information Center area to navigate to the "Oil Life" interface displayed on the instrument panel. Press the button on the Driver Information Center controller, and the display will show "Reset." Then, press the confirmation button to reset the oil life to 100%. Turn off the ignition switch to complete the reset.

I've been driving my 2017 Buick GL8 for quite some time now, and resetting the maintenance light is simple but may require a few tries. First, sit in the driver's seat, close the door, and turn the key to the ON position (without starting the engine). At this point, the dashboard will light up. Press the button on the left side of the steering wheel—it might be the round knob for selecting the info menu—and slowly navigate to find the settings option. If you see an entry for remaining oil life or service reminder, select it and then choose the reset option to confirm. Don’t worry if it doesn’t work the first time; just turn off the ignition, restart, and try again, as the system sometimes requires a bit of patience. Once the maintenance light is reset, it will recalculate the mileage to remind you of the next oil change, avoiding false fault alerts. Doing this before a long trip in the GL8 gives me peace of mind, as the car’s electronic menu operation isn’t too complicated.

What are the precautions for pushing a flat car?

Precautions for pushing a flat car include checking whether the car's insurance is complete and drafting a small agreement. Insurance Introduction: The full name of the insurance is "Compulsory Traffic Accident Liability Insurance for Motor Vehicles". It is a mandatory liability insurance provided by insurance companies to compensate for personal injuries, deaths, and property losses (excluding the vehicle's occupants and the insured) caused by road traffic accidents involving the insured vehicle, within the liability limits. Insurance Nature: The insurance is China's first compulsory insurance system implemented by national law. Its premiums follow a nationally unified fee standard, as stipulated by the state. However, the prices of compulsory traffic accident liability insurance vary for different car models, with the main influencing factor being the "number of car seats".

What Causes Engine Stalling at Idle?

The causes of engine stalling at idle need to be analyzed based on the symptoms. If the engine stalls immediately upon entering idle operation, this is referred to as "no idle speed." Common causes for this issue include: damage to the engine idle control valve or its wiring; leakage in the vacuum pipe of the brake vacuum booster; rupture of the brake vacuum booster diaphragm; intake manifold air leakage; or problems with the idle control module in the engine electronic control unit (ECU). For intermittent idle stalling, typical causes include: sticking of the engine idle control valve; worn insulation on the idle control valve wiring; excessively dirty idle air passages; issues with the engine throttle position sensor; problems with the camshaft position sensor or crankshaft position sensor; malfunction or excessive dirt on the engine speed sensor; or faults in the idle control program within the engine electronic control unit.

Why is it difficult to start the car in cold weather?

The reasons why it is difficult to start the car in cold weather: 1. Poor oil fluidity: Oil fluidity is an important factor affecting cold starts, especially in winter when oil fluidity deteriorates, leading to increased friction resistance during cold starts; 2. Car battery: The charging and discharging performance of the car battery decreases in low-temperature environments. When the power released by the battery is insufficient to meet the starter's demand, the car becomes difficult to start, resulting in reduced speed and difficulty in starting; 3. Carbon deposits in the car: Carbon deposits can occur in various parts of the car, such as the throttle valve, fuel injector, and spark plugs. When carbon deposits form in these parts, cold starts become relatively more difficult. In winter, the already low ambient temperature, combined with blockages in the throttle valve and fuel injector, reduces the atomization effect of gasoline, affecting the normal start of the engine.

What is the equivalent of high-speed third gear in low-speed gears for a four-wheeled vehicle?

Four-wheeled vehicle's high-speed third gear is equivalent to low-speed fifth gear. Car gears: 1st gear: Used for normal starting or climbing very steep slopes, with a speed generally around 10 km/h; 2nd gear: Transition gear for acceleration after starting or for low-speed forward movement, with a speed generally around 20 km/h; 3rd gear: Used at speeds of 20-40 km/h, commonly used for city driving; 4th gear: Used at speeds of 40-60 km/h; 5th gear: Can be used at speeds of 60 km/h and above. Function of gears: When driving a car, shifting gears allows the engine to operate at its optimal performance state. All driving conditions have corresponding shift points, with the ultimate goal of reducing fuel consumption.

How to Solve High Pressure in Car Air Conditioning?

Check if the refrigerant is sufficient. You can estimate by feeling the temperature difference between the inlet and outlet pipes of the dryer, or use a manifold pressure gauge for detection. Relevant information is as follows: 1. Causes: High pressure may be due to clogging. It is recommended to check the expansion valve, evaporator, and whether the dryer bottle is installed backwards. This is a sign of insufficient refrigerant. Compressor issues. Poor-quality compressors, even new ones, can exhibit such problems. 2. Solutions: Regularly clean the air vents and dust and dirt in the cabin. This not only helps maintain the car's appearance but is also beneficial for the health of the driver and passengers.

What Causes Water Accumulation in the Trunk?

Water accumulation in the trunk occurs due to worn or aged sealing strips or trunk deformation, which can lead to leaks. Trunk leaks must be addressed promptly to avoid damaging components inside the trunk. Solutions: During spring and autumn, it is essential to clean the sealing strips multiple times. Gently wipe them with damp cotton. If the car will be parked for an extended period, perform a thorough cleaning before storage to prevent natural aging. Talcum powder is commonly used for cleaning. Trunk Precautions: Many car owners tend to store valuable items in the trunk, assuming it is a blind spot that others won’t notice. However, thieves often target such areas, as modern techniques make it easy to break into trunks and steal valuables. In summer, high temperatures accelerate the spoilage of fruits and vegetables, leading to unpleasant odors that linger for a long time. Therefore, it’s crucial to remove them as soon as possible.
