How to reset BMW window anti-pinch protection?

Resetting can be done by initializing the window settings. If the window fails to automatically rise when closing the door, it's necessary to check the window relay. In most cases, the window anti-pinch protection function cannot be disabled. Due to safety considerations during factory settings, this function is mandatory and cannot be canceled.
As a BMW owner, I've manually reset the anti-pinch function several times. With the car powered on but not started, first hold down the button to lower the window completely without releasing. Wait for 3 seconds, then pull the window-up switch all the way to the top and keep holding it for an additional 15 seconds after reaching the top. After completing this procedure, you'll hear two 'click' sounds from the window motor, indicating a successful reset. If the sunroof has the same issue, the method is similar but requires holding the tilt-up button for 15 seconds. After resetting, it's best to test the anti-pinch function with an empty plastic water bottle. If it still doesn't work, there might be debris stuck in the window track, requiring door panel removal for cleaning. Be careful with your fingers when handling this yourself – last time I almost got my keychain pinched.
